位于金宝的近打锡矿工业（砂泵）博物馆是由前金宝区国会议员丹斯里丘思东以私人名义创办，也是全马首座锡矿博物馆。
霹雳州的经济兴起与锡矿业息息相关，拉律（太平旧称）、怡保、金宝、安顺等地，曾于19世纪因丰富的锡产而辉煌一时，可惜80年代之后因世界锡市崩溃而走向没落。
近打锡矿工业（砂泵）博物馆于2012年10月24日开幕，这是一个深具纪念意义的日子，因为1985年10月24日，正是世界锡市崩溃的日子。
博物馆的宗旨，是将先贤采矿的血汗史迹，呈现给年轻一代认识。馆内主要以沙泵采矿为展览重点。公众可以透过采锡工具、机械、矿场模型、人偶、文物等，了解当时的采锡盛景。
拉曼大学中华研究院与博物馆曾于2015年10月25日首次联办“锡矿节”，借此纪念从事锡矿前辈，同时也让公众重新认识这段“锡日辉煌”的历史。“锡矿节”成为金宝的年度活动，每年吸引许多人参与。直至2020年，新冠肺炎疫情爆发，“锡矿节”以线上形式进行。今年（2021）则因疫情仍严峻而被迫停办。

Kinta Tin Mining(Gravel Pump) Museum located in Kampar New Town is founded by the former Member of Parliament for Kampar, Tan Sri Hew See Tong. This is also the first tin museum in Malaysia.
Tin mining had been a major economic activity in Perak state. Larut (the former name of Taiping), Ipoh, Kampar, Teluk Intan, etc, were rich in tin during 19th to 20th Century. However, the tin industry went downhill in 80s after the international tin market collapsed.
Kinta Tin Mining(Gravel Pump) Museum was officially opened on 24 October 2012, in the memory of the day 24 October 1985, on which the international tin market collapsed.
The tin museum is founded in remembrance of the predecessors for being one of the economic contributors to the country. The exhibition of the museum is mainly on the Gravel Pump machinery. Tin mining tools, tin machinery, mining models, dolls, artifacts are exhibited in the museum to present the development of the mining industry in Malaysia.
Institute of Chinese Studies of UTAR was co-organizing a Tin Mining Festival with the museum on 24 October 2015. This festival attracts many participants every year. However, due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the Tin Mining Festival was first being held online. In 2021, the physical festival activities were cancelled since the pandemic wasn't over yet.
