卧龙居满故事~~蔡慧沁归乡打造民宿

曾经在台北、吉隆坡及槟城等大城市居住多年的蔡慧沁，在因缘聚会下来到金宝，并将位于金龙园的老店屋打造成为民宿“卧龙居”，在享受淳朴的风土人情之余，也致力于为这间民宿创造更多活力及故事。

蔡慧沁在2010年从台湾回来后，就随着丈夫在金宝定居，最初他们搬过来时，是买下楼上的单位，当时楼下住着从1969年开始就搬进来，并一直居住到2015，后来才转售给她的施德雨及孔成英夫妇。

Chai Wei Sin has been living in several cities such as Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Penang etc. before settled down in Kampar. She has turned an old shop house into a cozy home stay with the name of “Kampar Golden Dragon Homestay” in Taman Golden Dragon, Kampar. 

Chai followed her husband to stay in Kampar in 2010 after she completed her studies in Taiwan. They stayed in the upper storey of a shop house, while Mr. Saw Teck Woo and Madam Kong Ah Yeng, an old couple stayed in the ground storey since 1969.  The ground storey was sold to Chai in 2015.

Taman Golden Dragon is located at the hill and with strategic location in old town Kampar. It was formerly a luxurious residential area during the tin mining period in 20th Century. One of the famous tin miners, Eu Dong Shuan (the second generation of descendant of Eu Yan Sang) used to own a luxurious villa in Taman Golden Dragon. Many young men and women loved to date and take pictures at this hill view villa. However, the villa has now been demolished and replaced with residential houses.

金龙园位处山丘，是金宝市内其中一个占尽地理环境优势的住宅区，也曾是锡矿盛产期的高级住宅区，最着名的余仁生第二代继承人兼矿家余东璇的豪华别墅就在此处。当时，该别墅中英架势的建筑结构之壮观，是当地之最，更是许多妙龄少女少男相见约会与拍照的景点。唯物换星移，如今已拆除，取而代之的是依山势而建的房屋。

经营民宿，从未在我生涯规划中沾上边，却歪打正着成为一份可重可轻的副业。民宿原是一栋我们初来小镇报到的老店屋，底层住着一对老夫妇，我们则在楼上安家。一栋老屋两家人，老太太三不五时隔着厨房天井拉开嗓门，唤我们下楼喝炖汤吃糖水。向晚风清，又是左邻右里闲话家常的时段，老太太在屋外的秋千上倚坐摇荡，荡出一个又一个轶闻逸事。

我们一住便是五年，直到孩子出世，才依依不舍辞别这山脚下的老屋，乔迁到有地排屋。这半层故居能作何用实在不好说，脱售价不高，出租费又低，于是我异想天开，向外子献议，不然做民宿吧！

金宝并非旅游重镇，纯粹其中一座北上怡保南下吉隆坡的路过小镇。所幸金宝有大学生来消费振奋经济，据说一年两次的毕业典礼，金宝民宿高朋满座，供不应求。只是投资了家具家电的民宿，光靠一年双毕，根本没有拉长补短的余地吧！

“卧龙居”的前世今生

“卧龙居”位于金宝旧街场的金龙园山脚（Taman Golden Dragon），金龙园曾是20世纪锡矿盛产期的高尚住宅区，著名矿家余东璇（余仁生的第二代传人）曾于此盖建豪华别墅，唯物换星移，今已拆除。

金龙园山脚下有一排店屋，“卧龙居”正于其中，建于1965年代后。后来种种不利因素，店屋生意没做成，就充作住家。

屋身格局是典型的店屋，楼下是偌大的前厅，屋后才是私人空间，两间卧房、厨房、厕所、后院。楼下前屋主是一对育有五个孩子的夫妇（苏德雨先生和孔成英女士），他们于1969年迁入，2015年正式脱售，搬离此屋。他们与这房子共度风雨46年，孩子们皆已成人成才。

我们抱着怀旧的心情接手这栋房子，于是保留了部分值得怀念而又还具有使用价值的古早家具与装饰，让访客尤其是年轻一代，亲身感受老房子的稳重且厚实的温度。

The story of “Kampar Golden Dragon Homestay”

“Kampar Golden Dragon Homestay” is located at the foot of hill in Taman Golden Dragon, old town Kampar. Taman Golden Dragon was formerly a luxurious residential area during the tin mining period in 20th Century. One of the famous tin miners, Eu Dong Shuan (the founder of Eu Yan Sang) used to have a luxurious villa in Taman Golden Dragon, but then he shifted away from the villa after half a decade.

Our homestay is one of the shop houses which was built in 1965 at the foot of hill in Taman Golden Dragon. But during the economic downturn, these shop houses were then converted into residential houses.

The layout of this house follows a typical shop house design. There is a spacious living room downstairs, which was actually an open space for business activities, and to welcome guests. The owner’s private space such as two bedrooms, kitchen, toilet and backyard are placed at the end of the house.
