“卧龙居”的前世今生

“卧龙居”位于金宝旧街场的金龙园山脚（Taman Golden Dragon），金龙园曾是20世纪锡矿盛产期的高尚住宅区，著名矿家余东璇（余仁生的第二代传人）曾于此盖建豪华别墅，唯物换星移，今已拆除。

金龙园山脚下有一排店屋，“卧龙居”正于其中，建于1965年代后。后来种种不利因素，店屋生意没做成，就充作住家。

屋身格局是典型的店屋，楼下是偌大的前厅，屋后才是私人空间，两间卧房、厨房、厕所、后院。楼下前屋主是一对育有五个孩子的夫妇（苏德雨先生和孔成英女士），他们于1969年迁入，2015年正式脱售，搬离此屋。他们与这房子共度风雨46年，孩子们皆已成人成才。

我们抱着怀旧的心情接手这栋房子，于是保留了部分值得怀念而又还具有使用价值的古早家具与装饰，让访客尤其是年轻一代，亲身感受老房子的稳重且厚实的温度。

The story of “Kampar Golden Dragon Homestay”

“Kampar Golden Dragon Homestay” is located at the foot of hill in Taman Golden Dragon, old town Kampar. Taman Golden Dragon was formerly a luxurious residential area during the tin mining period in 20th Century. One of the famous tin miners, Eu Dong Shuan (the founder of Eu Yan Sang) used to have a luxurious villa in Taman Golden Dragon, but then he shifted away from the villa after half a decade.

Our homestay is one of the shop houses which was built in 1965 at the foot of hill in Taman Golden Dragon. But during the economic downturn, these shop houses were then converted into residential houses.

The layout of this house follows a typical shop house design. There is a spacious living room downstairs, which was actually an open space for business activities, and to welcome guests. The owner’s private space such as two bedrooms, kitchen, toilet and backyard are placed at the end of the house.
